RANDom thought: We can do this!

If you don’t know, I live in Daytona Beach, Florida

This last week, Hurricane Ian came to our area for a two-day visit, which we will never forget. He came through and made a devastating impact on our community and many others in Florida.

But you know what, we are still here. Regrouping, rebuilding, and, more importantly, standing strong together. God bless those who lost their lives and those that had damage to their homes. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.

Is anyone asking themselves, why me, why us? I know during trying times, we often wonder why? There is a saying that God doesn’t give us more than we can’t handle. Well, often I think He has the wrong person! I’ve been through two divorces, years of addiction in my immediate family resulting in rehabs and prison, the loss of a brother, Dad, and stepmom by suicide, the loss of another brother by a massive stroke, a sexual assault, and a few more things in my life. But here I am, still alive, still thriving, still happy. Why? Because of people and a positive attitude. I often ask myself, why not me? I am no better than anyone else. God chose me, or I made poor decisions resulting in drama and trauma. So how do I rise above and live a happy and healthy life? Yep, people and a positive attitude.

I don’t tell you about these things for sympathy or shock value. Instead, I tell you these things to describe how resilient we are as humans.

We are never alone, and we can always control our thoughts.

What I am seeing right now in my community is people stepping up, keeping positive attitudes, and doing what they can to survive.

WE HAVE GOT THIS!

Stay strong, love, and help your neighbor, and think good thoughts.
We will survive.
Much love.
